Do all recruiters use the same rejection letter?
We were impressed with your background and credentials; however, we have selected a candidate who is a better fit for our current needs.
I've gotten this three times over the last few months ... not just the sentiment, but the exact same language.
I'm betting that all HR people, when they receive their degrees, get a copy of the Big Book of HR, which includes chapters such as "Idiotic Questions to Ask Candidates" and "Form Rejection Letters ... It's Not You, It's Me."
Also, I respect the hell out of a company who, after you've interviewed with them face-to-face, actually calls you to break the news. It just seems like the right thing to do, versus sending a form letter.
